SCOOP International Fashion Show

Hey everyone! Sorry I haven't posted in ages. Last Sunday I was lucky enough to go on the train to London and attend the Scoop International Fashion Show! It showcased over four hundred fabulous collections, split between the beautiful Saactchi Gallery and Phillips. The whole event lasts three days and features brands from all over the world, attracting lots of buyers. Here are some of my favourite brands:

2) Soomin

It was a fantastic opportunity and I had a great time seeing what the trends will be this autumn and next summer. Thanks for reading!

The Liebster Award!

Hey everyone, hope you are all well! Thank you SO MUCH for 1,000 blog views, I wasn't even expecting 100! I spotted this award on Holly's blog Pretty Little Pineapple and although no-one has nominated me, I thought it looked a laugh and I'd do it myself! The rules are:

  • You must list 11 facts about yourself
  •  Answer the 11 questions asked by the person who nominated you.
  • Ask 11 new questions for the blogger you nominate.
  •  Choose up to 11 bloggers with less than 200 followers to nominate.
    Here goes!
    11 Facts About Me

    1) I go to an all girls catholic grammar school (and no, I am not a nun!)

    2) My favourite colour is pink

    3) I love wearing things in my hair

    4) I share my birthday with Gwyneth Paltrow

    5) I am in love with Adnan Januzaj (I'm joking, I swear! Ok... I'm not)

    6) People think I am a quiet nerd but I actually hate school and am pretty darn lively (just ask my maths class)

    7) I have an obsession with peach cordial

    8) I have seen Henry Holland in the flesh

    9) I am definitely a skirts and dresses kind of girl rather than jeans and trousers

    10) I love watching people on YouTube - my favourite is Bertie Gilbert

    11) I really don't like supernatural books/films/stuff

    Questions from Pretty Little Pineapple

    1. What is your dream job?
Something in the fashion industry! I don't know what exactly but I'd love to be a designer or a journalist for a magazine.

    2. Who inspires you the most?
I know it's bad but I honestly don't know! I get inspiration from everywhere, whether I am out in the street, watching TV, reading magazines or checking out other fashion blogs!

    3. Ice lollies or Ice cream?
Ooooh, this is a hard one. Ice lollies are great until they melt and fall off the stick and ice cream is heavenly but sooo bad for you. I think it'll definitely have to be ice cream though, my ultimate fave is Ferrero Rocher flavour!

    4. Who do you base you style on?
No-one really! I think my style is quite individual; if I see something I like I'll buy it, whether it's a pair of Nike high tops, blue eyeliner or a flowery pinafore.

    5. What's your favourite song?
There are far too many to choose from! I tend to like songs for a certain length of time and then go off them but a couple of my all time favourites are probably Candi Staton's 'Young Hearts Run Free', 'Guess Who's Back' by Eminem and 'Poker Face' by Lady Gaga! (An odd bunch I know!)

    6. What's your favourite animal?
Probably a flamingo because they are just so pink and sassy!

    7. Why did you first start blogging?
As I mentioned earlier, I really want a career in fashion and love putting outfits together so I thought why not start a blog to get a foot on the fashion ladder? It is purely a hobby at the moment but I'd love it become a source of income in the future.

    8. What would your desert island beauty pick be?
It'd have to be either Clinique's Almost Makeup foundation (it tints and contains suncream, get me being practical!) or a really decent lip balm!

    9. What is you fashion must have?
Sweaters sweaters sweaters! There are just so many styles, colours and designs! I've got my eye on the Kenzo tiger face ones.

    10. What were your childhood ambitions?
I really wanted to be a pediatrician until I started to suffer from nosebleeds and decided I didn't like blood!

    11. Do you have any unusual habits?
YES! I have two windows in my bedroom and the blind on one of them has to be higher than the other. I also have a flowery table mat at dinner but everyone else has a plain one; I don't even remember why that habit started!

    My 11 Questions

    1) If you could be a celebrity for the day, who would you be and why?
    2) If you could change your name, what would you change it to?
    3) If you could only buy clothes from one brand for the rest of your life, where would it be?
    4) What is your favourite film?
    5) Do you have any special talents?
    6) What colour do you think represents your personality?
    7) What was/is your favourite subject at school and why?
    8) Would you rather wear face makeup or eye/lip makeup for the rest of your life?
     9) What is your guilty pleasure?
    10) Would you rather be poor and happy or rich and lonely?
     11) Do you prefer wearing bright colours or monochrome?

I hope you enjoyed reading this post and feel free to do it yourself, let me know if you do! If your Wednesday hasn't been great, I'll leave you this picture to cheer you up! Urgh, isn't he lovely!

LFW - HOUSE OF HOLLAND SS14

Hey everyone, I am so sorry for not posting for a while! I had a couple of GCSE things to do last week and a horrific cold that I am still suffering from as I type this. (It's 5.17pm and I'm still sniveling in my pyjamas!)

I know London Fashion Week is coming to an end but I felt I should blog about it anyway as I have been following its every move on Twitter. My favourite shows had to be SIBLING, Topshop Unique (did anyone else watch the livestream?!) and most of  all, House of Holland!

Moving on, today's blog post is all about the House of Holland SS14 show and how completely and utterly fabulous it was!

One of the main reasons that I loved this show was that it was almost a homage to Baz Luhrmans amazing 1996 film adaptation of Romeo + Juliet (quite possibly mi favorito film of all time!). I think that this theme was done fantastically well as I picked up on the Mexico City/Verona Beach vibes from just looking at the runway pictures. It was full of religious icons and tattoo prints, feminine yet masculine, girly yet grungy so well done Mr Holland!

My favourite looks would definitely have to be pictures one, two, four, seven and nine but I don't think I'd complain about wearing any of them! The colours, the prints, the accessories... WOW! Maybe I'd be able to afford the bomber jacket in picture four if I saved up until 2019!

I hope you enjoyed this post, thought I'd be a bit different and do a runway review! I know I keep using being ill as an excuse but I'll hope to have posts up more regularly in the future! I don't own any of the above pictures and the House of Holland photos are credited to Catwalking.com.

THESE BOOTS ARE MADE FOR WALKING

Forget the Little Black Dress, It's Little Black Boot time!

As I mentioned previously in my last post, I am really considering buying a pair of black ankle boots for the winter. Today was particularly windy, rainy and cold (typical British weather I know!), and it made me realise that I'm a little unprepared going into the winter so ankle boots are definitely at the top of my future purchases list!

1) Bronx Black Leather Boot
Definitely for the more androgynous members of the fashion gang! I'm feeling them with a boyfriend coat and super skinnies.

2) Vagabond Boots
I love the almost gothy, clunky look of these boots and the platform just finishes them of nicely!
3) Robert Clergerie Leather Wedge Boots
These boots are definitely for the more extravagant cash splashers out there. Love the simplicity of them but the extra mini wedge makes them a bit more special.

4) Asos Cut Out Ankle Boot
These boots are an absolute steal at only £40! I love the round toe and side buckle but the only downside is that they aren't real leather :(

5) Topshop Open Side Chunky Boots
I absolutely LOVE these boots so it is such a shame they are out of stock. They would be great all year round with leggings in the winter or a dress in the summer

6) Topshop Platform Chelsea Boots
These boots are also out of stock at the moment but are my complete favourite out of all the above! I'm hoping and praying they bring them back as we head into winter as I reaaaally want them.

This post is a little different to anything I have attempted so far so I hope you like it! Feel free to comment if you think I should do this again or stick to just my outfits. Hope you all had a happy Monday!

ONE SKIRT... TWO WAYS

Aloha everyone! Yesterday I was superrrr busy so sorry for the late post. When I say 'busy' I actually mean 'busy buying a skirt' which is what I want to blog about now! I was out having a girly morning with my mum and we wandered down to a gorgeous boutique near where I live called Laundry Boutique that sells the most beautiful clothes, shoes and jewelry for very reasonable prices!

They have stores in Altrincham, Chester, Chiswick, Manchester,  Portobello and Stockton Heath so if there is one near you check them out.

So lets get back on task... MY NEW SKIRT! I bought it from Laundry Boutique for an absolute bargain at £24 and I LOVEEEE IT!  It is so versatile and I have the blue version but there was green and black on offer too (might sneak back down and get another but don't tell mother).

LOOK NUMERO UNO:
Wow, my ponytail really had a mind of its own in some of those pictures! I was going for a bit of a 90s theme (just needed an oversized bomber jacket to finish it off) with my chunky gold chain and Nike trainers, and just chucked on my heart socks as a bit of a novelty.

Top: Primark
Skirt: Glamorous @ Laundry Boutique
Socks: Pieces @ Asos
Gold chain: Asos
Shoes: Nike

LOOK NUMERO DOS:

I kinda unintentionally jumped on the plaid bandwagon with this outfit but I can definitely see myself wearing it with a pair of woolly tights and black Chelsea Boots (I might treat myself to some in the near future so watch this space!) as we get further into autumn.

Shirt: Ebay
Skirt: Glamorous @ Laundry Boutique
Socks: Asos
Shoes: French Connection

Sorry again for posting late! I will try to do a few at once next time so you don't have to wait as long. I also have had a super fabby idea that will hopefully be materializing soon so stay tuned cos it will blow your mind! (probably not)

ASOS IS MY BEST FRIEND

I'm not joking, if Asos was a person we would be total BFFs! I am pretty sure I spend at least a third of my waking hours on their website. Scrolling... Scrolling... Scrolling... Add to basket... Scrolling... You get the picture! I love the enormous variety of brands they have on offer, some cheap and cheerful, others for more hardcore fashionistas. There are brands available on Asos to suit every style, shape and size, with their own brand label being pretty darn great too! Below are just a few of my fave pieces they are selling at the moment!

I know this is just a short but sweet post but I just couldn't wait to blog again! I do not own any of the above pictures and I give complete credit to Asos. (Don't want to be chased by the copyright police!) And last but not least... I hope you are all having a good week!
